Liliana Arcero

Liliana Acero holds Ph. D in Sociology, 1983, from the University of Sussex; Postdoctoral Studies; Tinker Lampadia Fellow and Associate Professor , Universities of Massachussetts and Brown ( 1990-1992). Currently, she is visiting Senior Foreign Professor at the PosGraduate Programme on Public Policy, Strategies and Development (PPED) at the Institute of Economics (IE) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro ( UFRJ); Research Coordinator in  INCT/PPED/IPEA project and research participant in ENDURE. Her areas of research and teaching are in: social impacts of new technologies, public policies, gender studies and development, health and mental health, domestic groups and the labour process/market, new reproductive technologies and regenerative medicine.  Acero has done most of her studies in comparison between emerging and advanced countries (mainly, USA, UK and Canadá). She currently teaches Science Technology and Society at PPED and  has published a number of books and  articles in international journals in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
