Anna Cichecka is an assistant professor at the University of Wroclaw. In her research, she is focused on the socio-political situation in Sub-Saharan Africa with particular emphasis on the situation of women and the role of social movements in democratization. She is also focused on the role of the East African Community in integration processes and EU-Africa relations. She is the author of academic papers and reports as well as a book dedicated to women’s movements in Tanzania and their impact on the socio-political changes within the state. Moreover, she was a prestigious grant holder from the National Science Center and she has had a chance to participate in research teams that developed high-quality expertise for the business sector. She has also cooperated with non-profit organizations in Poland and abroad and coordinated international developmental projects.
